Production & Well Engineering
Production and well engineering, backed by 35+ years in the field.
Fennec designs and troubleshoots artificial lift, plans stimulation and workover programmes, and resolves flow assurance problems in oil and gas wells, drawing on more than 35 years of production and well engineering experience.

02.AWhere we are usually called in
Start with the problem in the well.
These are the issues operators most often bring to us, and how we approach each one.
| Problem | Our approach |
|---|---|
| Pressure drop and declining rate | Inflow and lift review, then stimulation or lift redesign. |
| Scale and paraffin deposition | Root-cause analysis, chemical programme and cleanout plan. |
| ESP failures and short run life | Run-life and teardown review, sizing and power-supply checks. |
| Sand production | Sand control strategy and drawdown management. |
| Corrosion | Material and inhibition review for tubulars and equipment. |
02.1Artificial lift
The right lift system, sized to the well rather than the catalogue.
Selection, design and performance evaluation across the main lift methods.
Electric submersible pumps (ESP)
Pump, motor and cable selection, design and run-life evaluation.
Rod pumps
Rod string and pumping unit design, load analysis and optimisation.
Gas lift
Valve design, injection optimisation and allocation across wells.
Recovery optimisation
Rate and drawdown management to improve recovery from the reservoir.
02.2Stimulation & workover
Bring wells back to rate.
Programmes planned around the cause of decline, not just the symptom.
Acidizing
Matrix and fracture acidizing design for carbonate and sandstone reservoirs.
Hydraulic fracturing
Treatment planning to connect more of the reservoir to the wellbore.
Scale & paraffin control
Prevention and removal programmes, including chemical treatment and tubing cleanout.
02.3Flow assurance & completions
Keep the flow path open from sandface to surface.
Engineering for the constraints that cut production over the life of the well.
Thermal & pressure constraints
Analysis of restrictions caused by temperature and pressure along the flow path.
Sand & corrosion management
Sand control strategy and corrosion mitigation for tubulars and equipment.
Smart completions
Downhole equipment design, including packers and tubing configurations.
Questions
Common questions
Our ESPs keep failing early. Can you help?
Yes. We review run-life history, operating data and teardown findings, check pump and motor sizing against current inflow, and recommend design, operating or power-supply changes.
Do you plan acid and fracturing treatments?
We plan acidizing and hydraulic fracturing programmes based on the cause of decline, reservoir type and well history, and evaluate the results after treatment.
